My name is Marvin Kponvi, also known as kpv_gallery. I'm a 28 y/o photographer based in Hamburg. Back in 2017 I started taking pictures with a reflex camera and initially discovered photography as a hobby. At this point, I didn’t realize that photography would be such an important part in my life and over time it became a passion for me, which is not something I would do casually. This is what gives me the feeling of fulfillment and dedication.

My shots aim to trigger emotions and thoughts in people. Emphasizing beautiful colors, blurred objects, lights and unique people is my way of expression. It is essential for me to maintain my models’ personalities and still letting my visions shine through my photographs. That’s what I call authenticity. 

Before I started with photography, I would say, I perceived people and things in a different way. Seeing the world through the lens of my camera gives me a more precise view for details. For the first time in my life I felt motivated to be dedicated to a cause, namely the art of photography. Taking pictures for me is like deep diving into a world of my own freedom in which I do not see the camera as a tool, but as a part of my identity. Eventually, photography taught me to find the beauty in my surroundings.
